Tragic Crane Accident Claims Worker's Life at Thane Construction Site

According to police officials from Manpada police station, the victim identified as Vijaynath Ram Bahadur Kushwaha was engaged in critical work alongside a technician. Their task involved increasing the height of the machine mast installed at the construction location.
As part of this technical process, a strap was being carefully stretched and fixed to the crane hook to facilitate the raising of the mast structure. However, during this delicate operation, the strap failed to properly fit into the hook mechanism due to what investigators believe was excessive tension in the system.
Sequence of Events Leading to Fatality
The official police account reveals a heartbreaking chain of events: When the strap could not be securely fastened to the crane hook, it suddenly slipped from Kushwaha's grip. This unexpected release caused the crane hook to swing violently and strike the worker directly on his forehead with significant force.
The impact resulted in severe head injuries that caused immediate and profuse bleeding. Emergency responders rushed Kushwaha via ambulance to a nearby private medical facility where he received initial first aid treatment. Despite these efforts, his condition remained critical.
Medical Response and Fatal Outcome
Following preliminary treatment, the injured worker was transferred to a civic-run hospital for more comprehensive medical care. Tragically, despite medical intervention, Vijaynath Ram Bahadur Kushwaha succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday evening, approximately one day after the accident occurred.
Police investigation has revealed that the victim originally hailed from Deoria district in Uttar Pradesh. At the time of the accident, he was residing in a laborers' colony located within Shirdhon village, where he had been working on the construction project.
