The Mayor-in-Council (MiC) in Indore on Thursday rejected a proposal to upgrade property tax rate zones for over 50 localities, including 29 newly integrated villages. The revision would have shifted developing areas from lower tax brackets (Zone 5) to premium brackets (Zones 1 and 2).

The MiC, chaired by Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav, approved a uniform licencing fee for every individual cinema screen showcasing commercial advertisements without prior IMC authorization. The council also sanctioned invitation of tenders to construct 8,100 housing units under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana 2.0.

Workforce Regularisation and Medical Assistance

In-principal approval was granted to regularize the corporation’s regulated (viniyamit) workforce under existing statutory rules. Additionally, the medical financial assistance programme for Safai Mitras has been expanded to cover drainage department workers in case of accidental emergencies.
