Around 1.45 lakh students appeared for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG across Karnataka on Sunday. The examination was conducted at 1,053 centers in the state, with strict adherence to COVID-19 protocols.
Smooth Conduct at Most Centers
According to officials, the exam was held smoothly at most centers. However, some students reported technical glitches with the computer-based test system, which were promptly resolved by the authorities. The exam began at 2 pm and lasted for three hours.
Security Measures
Elaborate security arrangements were made at all exam centers to prevent malpractice. CCTV cameras were installed, and frisking of candidates was done before entry. Additionally, 1,500 invigilators were deployed to ensure fair conduct.
Student Reactions
Many students found the paper moderately difficult. "The physics section was tricky, but chemistry and biology were manageable," said Rohan, a candidate from Bengaluru. Another student, Priya, added, "The questions were mostly from the NCERT syllabus, but some were application-based."
COVID-19 Protocols
All candidates were required to wear masks and maintain social distancing. Hand sanitizers were provided at the entrance. Students with symptoms were accommodated in separate rooms.
The results of NEET UG are expected to be announced in September. This exam is the gateway for admission to MBBS, BDS, and other medical courses in India.
