The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the deadline for Class 12 students to apply for scanned copies of their answer sheets. According to a circular issued by the board, the online process will now remain open until May 24, instead of the earlier deadline of May 23.
Reason for Extension
The decision to extend the deadline was prompted by heavy traffic on the official CBSE website, which caused significant inconvenience to students attempting to access the service. The board also reported instances of unauthorized interference that disrupted website operations over the past few days. To ensure that no student missed the opportunity due to technical difficulties, the board decided to provide an additional day for submissions.
Website Maintenance and Load Issues
The CBSE website remained under maintenance on Thursday, and once services resumed, a large number of students logged in simultaneously, further exacerbating the load. The board clarified that students who successfully obtain scanned copies of their answer sheets will be given an additional two days to apply for subsequent processes, such as verification of marks or re-evaluation.
Student Concerns Over Answer Sheet Quality
Meanwhile, several students have expressed concern over the quality of the scanned copies provided. Many reported that the answer sheets were blurred and unclear, making it difficult to read their responses and check the accuracy of marking. This issue has triggered reactions on social media, with students urging the board to provide clearer copies to ensure transparency and fairness in the evaluation process.
The CBSE has not yet issued an official response regarding the quality concerns. Students are advised to check the official CBSE website for further updates and to complete their applications before the extended deadline.
