CBSE Opens Portal for Class 12 Answer Book Verification and Re-evaluation
CBSE Opens Portal for Class 12 Answer Book Verification and Re-evaluation

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has opened the online portal for Class 12 students to apply for verification of issues found in scanned copies of their evaluated answer books and for re-evaluation of answers. The facility is available exclusively to students who have already obtained scanned copies of their answer books and will remain open until midnight on June 6.

Mandatory Aadhaar Verification

CBSE announced that Aadhaar verification has been introduced as a mandatory security measure in the registration process. If a student does not possess an Aadhaar number, the Aadhaar details of a parent, relative, or legal guardian may be used instead. However, the name, date of birth, and gender entered in the system must correspond exactly to the individual whose Aadhaar number is provided.

How to Apply for Re-evaluation

Students can log in through their accounts on the board's website and choose either or both services based on their requirements. They must enter an Aadhaar number while accessing the portal. The board clarified that if a student's own Aadhaar is unavailable, the Aadhaar name, date of birth, and gender entered must match the person whose Aadhaar number is used.

Students can seek rectification of issues identified in scanned copies of answer books or request re-evaluation of specific answers if they are not satisfied with the assessment. CBSE will examine the requests and communicate the outcome after processing. No offline applications will be accepted, and requests submitted after the deadline will not be considered.

Fees and Payment

The fee for verification of issues in scanned answer books is Rs 100 per answer book, while re-evaluation costs Rs 25 per question. Payments can be made through UPI, credit cards, debit cards, or net banking.

Verification Issues

Students can apply for resolution of issues observed in scanned copies, including missing pages, missing supplementary sheets, missing maps or graphs, blurred pages, incorrect answer book uploaded, or evaluation carried out against a different question paper set. Multiple issues and subjects can be included in a single application, but only one application for verification of issues is allowed. Candidates are advised to ensure all requests are included before clicking the "Freeze and Proceed to Payment" option, as details cannot be modified afterward. Applications are considered submitted only after successful online payment.

Re-evaluation Rules

Students may apply for re-evaluation of one or more questions across multiple subjects by providing question numbers and page numbers. All intended requests must be included before final submission, as only one re-evaluation application is permitted. Once frozen and payment is initiated, no edits can be made. Re-evaluation requests are processed only after successful online payment.
