Delhi Inspects 97 NEET Centres Before Retest on June 21

Delhi district administrations have started inspecting 97 examination centres for the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination scheduled on June 21. The initiative aims to review security and logistical arrangements to ensure a smooth conduct of the exam.

Inspection Details

Officials are checking infrastructure, CCTV surveillance, power and water supply, sanitation, traffic management, and emergency preparedness at all centres. The Delhi Government has also arranged free travel for NEET aspirants and their families on DTC buses on the exam day.

Special Arrangements for Students and Parents

In a first-of-its-kind initiative, the government has announced special arrangements not only for NEET aspirants but also for their accompanying parents. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta stated on Thursday that cooling zones would be established outside all NEET centres across the Capital. These zones will provide seating, clean drinking water, shikanji, ORS, tea, and first-aid kits.

A total of 97 NEET examination centres have been set up in Delhi, including 69 government schools and 28 Kendriya Vidyalayas. District administrations have been directed to create dedicated cooling zones around these centres with proper amenities.

Chief Minister's Statement

Gupta emphasized that the initiative aims to improve the overall experience for students and their families. "When parents are comfortable and free from anxiety, it has a positive impact on students as well, enabling them to appear for the examination with greater confidence," she said.

Heat Relief Measures

The Delhi Government has also intensified heat relief measures across the city. According to the Chief Minister, 85 shade structures have been installed at various locations, 15 cooling zones are currently operational, and 13 mobile heat relief units are moving across different parts of the city to combat the heatwave.
