The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) officially announced the Class 12 board examination results for 2026 on May 6, 2026. Students can now access their scorecards through the official website jacresults.com and via DigiLocker. To qualify, candidates must secure a minimum of 33% overall, with subject-wise passing marks set at 23 out of 70 and 33 out of 100. Those who do not meet these criteria will be marked unsuccessful. Students dissatisfied with their performance can opt for improvement exams, which will cover theory papers only, while practical marks will remain unchanged.

Grading System and Overall Performance

JAC follows a structured grading system: A+ for 80% and above, down to D for below 33%. This year, the pass percentages across streams were strong: Science at 79.26%, Commerce at 91.2%, and Arts at 95.62%. Rashida Naaz from Dhanbad emerged as the overall topper, scoring 489 marks.

Stream-wise Performance: Boys vs Girls

Science Stream: In the JAC Class 12 Science Examination 2026, boys and girls performed almost equally, with boys holding a slight edge. A total of 54,319 boys appeared, of whom 45,101 passed (pass percentage 83.02%). For girls, 35,849 appeared and 29,670 passed (pass percentage 82.76%). Although more boys appeared and passed in absolute numbers, their failure count was also higher. Overall, the performance difference between boys and girls is minimal.

Commerce Stream: Girls outperformed boys in the Commerce stream. Among boys, 11,970 appeared out of 12,067 enrolled, with 10,964 passing (91.59%). For girls, 9,108 appeared out of 9,161 enrolled, with 8,717 passing (95.70%). While 988 boys and 382 girls did not pass, girls clearly outshone boys with a higher pass percentage.

Arts Stream: Girls again performed better than boys in the Arts stream. Out of 1,25,991 girls who appeared, 1,21,814 passed (96.68%). For boys, 85,104 appeared and 81,148 passed (95.35%). District-wise, in East Singhbhum, girls scored 98.17% versus boys' 95.96%. In West Singhbhum, boys did slightly better with 98.41%, while girls scored 98.06%. In Seraikela Kharsawan, girls again performed better with 97.77% compared to boys at 95.96%. Overall, girls outperformed boys in most districts.
