Jharkhand Girl Tops Class XII Science with 97.8%

Dhanbad: Rashida Naaz, a 17-year-old student from Jharia in Dhanbad district, has achieved the first position in the science stream of the Class XII board examination conducted by the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC). She secured an impressive 97.8% marks, scoring 489 out of 500. Her outstanding performance has sparked celebrations across her locality in Jamadoba Ramzanpur.

Background and Family Support

Rashida is the daughter of Rustam Ansari, who works in a private job, and Gulfasha Parveen, a homemaker. Despite limited financial resources, Rashida, a student of DAV High School at Patherdih, never let challenges hinder her academic focus. She credits her success to her parents, teachers, and especially her elder sister, who guided her studies until Class VIII when she had no access to coaching.

Preparation Strategy and Subjects

Speaking about her preparation, Rashida said she relied more on classroom learning and guidance from her teachers rather than online classes. Mathematics is her favorite subject, while she scored the highest marks in chemistry. She mentioned that topping the state was beyond her expectations but emphasized that consistent effort and confidence made it possible.

Following Rashida, Md Faizan Alam secured 483 marks, while Akanksha Kumari and Sana Aafrin both scored 481 marks, making them among the top rankers in the science stream.
