Lucknow University (LU) has secured approval from the Bar Council of India to launch a five-year integrated BBA LLB programme, set to begin in the 2026-27 academic session. This marks a significant milestone as LU becomes the first state university in Uttar Pradesh to offer such a course.
Course Structure and Seats
The newly sanctioned programme will accommodate 180 students, divided into three sections of 60 each. The curriculum is designed with a multidisciplinary approach, blending core legal subjects with business management modules.
Curriculum Highlights
Students will study subjects like financial accounting, marketing, and business operations alongside constitutional law, corporate law, and international legal systems. Emphasis will be placed on practical skill development through moot courts, legal drafting, case studies, and internships at law firms and corporate organizations.

Vice-Chancellor Prof JP Saini stated, “Our focus is on developing globally competent professionals who can contribute meaningfully to both legal and corporate sectors.” He added that the programme aims to prepare students for diverse career paths.
Career Opportunities
Graduates can pursue roles in law firms, multinational companies, banking and financial institutions, and regulatory bodies. They will also be eligible for judicial services and independent legal practice. The course is expected to open wide career avenues in the legal and corporate domains.
