The State Board of Technical Education and Training (SBTET), Telangana, announced the results of the Polytechnic Common Entrance Test (POLYCET)-2026 on Saturday. Commissioner of Technical Education A Sridevasena declared the outcome, revealing that out of 1,06,439 registered candidates, 98,029 appeared for the examination held on May 13, and 81,307 qualified, achieving an overall pass percentage of 82.9%.
Gender-wise Performance
Among the 45,828 girls who appeared, 39,588 qualified, recording a pass percentage of 86.3%. In comparison, 41,719 of the 52,201 boys who appeared cleared the exam, with a pass percentage of 79.9%. This indicates a notable performance by female candidates.
Stream-wise Results
Candidates from the MPC stream achieved a pass percentage of 82.9%, while those from the MBiPC stream recorded 81.2%. The qualifying marks were set at a minimum of 36 out of 120 (30%), except for SC and ST candidates, who needed only one mark to qualify. All 18,481 SC and 8,817 ST candidates who qualified were allotted ranks.
Accessing Results
Rank cards are available on the official website polycet.sbtet.telangana.gov.in. Candidates can also download them via WhatsApp to their registered mobile numbers. Scanned OMR sheets have been uploaded for verification. The authorities have informed candidates that newspaper notifications will serve as the official call letter for counselling. Those who remain absent during certificate verification will be considered ineligible for admission into polytechnic courses for the 2026-27 academic year.
Separate Admission Notifications
Separate admission notifications for diploma courses under PJTSAU, SKLTHU, and PVNRTVU will be issued through the respective university websites.
LPCET-2026 Results
On the same day, the results of the Lateral Entry Polytechnic Common Entrance Test (LPCET)-2026 were also declared. Out of 508 candidates who appeared, 291 qualified, resulting in a pass percentage of 57.2%. Among boys, 281 out of 491 cleared the exam (57.2%), while 10 out of 17 girls qualified (58.8%). Notably, all 111 SC and 66 ST candidates who appeared for LPCET-2026 qualified, achieving a perfect 100% pass percentage.
