BENGALURU: Around 55% of students passed the SSLC-2 examination, the results of which were announced on Saturday evening. Consequently, the consolidated pass percentage for the SSLC examinations stood at 93.1%, a significant increase from 75% last year.
Record Pass Percentage for Fresh Students
The pass percentage for regular fresh students was 94.10% in SSLC-1 and 63% in SSLC-2, resulting in a consolidated pass percentage of 98%, setting a new record in the state. Last year, this figure was 80%. A total of 1.03 lakh students appeared for SSLC-2, including 11,892 students who sought to improve their scores. Among these, 71% achieved better scores.
Perfect Scores and Subject-Wise Performance
After SSLC-2, five additional students secured a perfect score of 625 out of 625. Among them, one student is from a government school, while the other four are from private schools. Among students who improved their results, 136 secured 100% in the first language, 76 in the second language, 144 in the third language, 52 in Mathematics, 126 in Science, and 68 in Social Science.
For fresh students, the pass percentage in all subjects except the first language crossed 99% in the consolidated results. In the first language, the pass percentage was 98.98%.
Gender and School Type Performance
Girls outperformed boys, with a pass percentage of 99% compared to 97% for boys. Students from government schools achieved a pass percentage of 98%, marginally trailing behind those from unaided schools, which recorded 98.63%.
Medium and District-Wise Analysis
The highest pass percentage was recorded in English medium schools at 98.96%, while the lowest was in Tamil medium schools at 93%. A district-wise analysis reveals that Udupi topped with a pass percentage of 99.58%, followed by Mandya at 99.43%, Dakshin Kannada at 99.42%, and Bengaluru Rural at 99.34%. Other districts with pass percentages above 99% include Hassan, Haveri, and Uttara Kannada.
Examination Details
The SSLC-2 examination was conducted from May 18 to 25 across 358 examination centres. This year, only two SSLC examinations are being held.
