UP Board 2026 Practical Exam Dates Released: Two-Phase Schedule Announced
UP Board 2026 Practical Exam Schedule Announced

The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP), headquartered in Prayagraj, has officially announced the complete schedule for the UP Board Intermediate (Class 12) practical examinations for the academic year 2026. This advance notification aims to provide ample preparation time for students, schools, and examination officials across the state.

Two-Phase Examination Schedule and District Grouping

The board has decided to conduct the practical examinations in two distinct phases to ensure smooth administration. The first phase is scheduled from January 24, 2026, to February 1, 2026. However, a crucial break has been mandated on January 29 and 30, 2026, as these dates coincide with the UP TET (Teacher Eligibility Test) written examination. All schools have been instructed to declare academic holidays and refrain from conducting any other exams on these two days.

The second phase will run from February 2, 2026, to February 9, 2026. The state has been divided into specific groups of districts for each phase.

The districts included in the first phase are:

  • Agra
  • Saharanpur
  • Bareilly
  • Lucknow
  • Jhansi
  • Chitrakoot
  • Ayodhya
  • Azamgarh
  • Devipatan
  • Basti

The second phase will cover the following districts:

  • Aligarh
  • Meerut
  • Moradabad
  • Kanpur
  • Prayagraj
  • Mirzapur
  • Varanasi
  • Gorakhpur

School principals have been directed to adhere strictly to this district-wise schedule to avoid any confusion or logistical issues.

Examination Guidelines and Internal Assessment Protocols

To uphold the integrity and transparency of the examination process, the board has issued strict guidelines. All practical examinations must be conducted under continuous CCTV surveillance. The principals of the respective schools are held directly responsible for this. The CCTV footage must be preserved and should be made available to the board authorities for verification if required.

For High School (Class 10) students, practical examinations will be conducted internally at the school level. Their assessment will be based on internal evaluation and project work. Private candidates appearing for the intermediate exams must coordinate with the principal of their designated forwarding centre to ensure they can appear for the practicals without any hassle.

Pre-Board Practicals and Online Mark Upload System

In preparation for the main board exams, pre-Board practical examinations for Class 12 students are slated for the first week of January 2026. These will be organized and conducted at the individual school level by the principals, who must ensure proper documentation of the entire process.

A significant part of the new process is the online uploading of marks. School principals are required to upload the marks obtained by students in High School practicals, as well as in subjects like Moral Education, Yoga, Sports, and Physical Education, through the board's official portal. Similarly, marks for Intermediate students in Moral, Yoga, Sports, and Physical Education must also be submitted online.

The online mark submission portal on the council's official website, upmsp.edu.in, will become active from January 10, 2026. This digital system is designed to streamline the mark compilation process and ensure accuracy and efficiency.

This comprehensive announcement by the UP Board lays down a clear roadmap for the 2026 practical examinations. By releasing the schedule well in advance and detailing the procedural guidelines, the board aims to facilitate a seamless, fair, and well-organized examination experience for lakhs of students across Uttar Pradesh. Students are advised to maintain regular contact with their school authorities for any updates regarding the pre-Board practical schedule and other important instructions.
