DU UG Admission 2026 Process Begins

Delhi University (DU) has officially commenced the undergraduate (UG) admission process for the academic year 2026. Aspirants can now register on the official portal ugadmission.uod.ac.in. The university has released the detailed admission brochure outlining eligibility criteria, application fees, and important deadlines. Over 70,000 seats are expected to be filled across various colleges and courses.

Eligibility Criteria for DU UG 2026

Candidates must have passed Class 12 from a recognized board with at least 40% marks in aggregate (45% for general category). Specific eligibility criteria vary by course; for example, B.Com (Hons) requires 50% in commerce subjects, while BA (Hons) Economics demands 60% in mathematics. Reserved categories get relaxation as per government norms. According to DU officials, eligibility will be verified through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) scores.

Application Fees and Process

The application fee for general/OBC candidates is Rs. 750, while SC/ST/PwD candidates pay Rs. 300. The fee is non-refundable and can be paid online via debit/credit card, net banking, or UPI. Registration requires filling personal details, academic information, and course preferences. DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Yogesh Singh stated, "The portal is designed to be user-friendly, ensuring a smooth application experience." Last year, over 2.5 lakh applications were received.

Important Dates

The registration window opened on June 27, 2026, and will close on July 25, 2026. The CUET UG 2026 scores will be released by August 10. The first allocation list is expected on August 20. Candidates must check the portal regularly for updates. Late applications will not be entertained.

Courses Offered and Seat Distribution

DU offers over 60 undergraduate programs including BA, B.Sc, B.Com, and B.Tech. Science courses require mathematics and science in Class 12. Commerce and arts streams have varying subject requirements. Around 60% of seats are reserved for general category, 22% for OBC, 15% for SC, and 7.5% for ST. Additionally, 5% supernumerary seats are for sports and ECA quotas.
