CBSE Extends Class 12 Answer Sheet Verification and Re-evaluation Deadline
CBSE Extends Class 12 Answer Sheet Verification Deadline

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the deadline for submitting applications for verification and re-evaluation of Class 12 answer sheets after numerous students reported difficulties accessing the board's post-result services portal. The new deadline is June 7, providing additional time for students to complete the process.

Revised Schedule Announced

In an official statement posted on X, CBSE stated, "In the interest of students, the CBSE has decided to extend the last date for submission of applications for verification and re-evaluation for the Class 12 board examinations, thereby providing students additional time and support to complete the process." The previous deadline of June 6 (midnight) has now been extended to June 7 (midnight). Students are advised to take note of the revised schedule and submit their applications accordingly.

Portal Features and Student Concerns

On Tuesday, CBSE launched its online portal for verifying issues in scanned copies of answer books and for re-evaluation of answers. Students dissatisfied with their board exam evaluation can report concerns such as missing pages, missing supplementary sheets, missing maps or graphs, blurred pages, incorrect answer books, or evaluation against a different question paper set. This initiative comes after some Class 12 students alleged that the scanned copies of their answer sheets did not match their handwriting, raising doubts about potential mismatches in the on-screen marking (OSM) system.

Investigation into OSM System

The cabinet secretariat has announced the formation of a one-member committee to investigate the procurement of services for the OSM system by CBSE. This move aims to address the controversies surrounding the evaluation process and ensure transparency in future examinations.

Students are encouraged to utilize the extended deadline to submit their applications and resolve any discrepancies in their answer sheets. CBSE has assured that all concerns will be addressed promptly.
