Chennai: R Abhinav from Chennai has secured the first rank among 37,000 applicants in Sastra deemed university's engineering admission rank list that was released on Friday. Admissions will be based on Class XII marks and JEE (main) scores, in which Abhinav achieved 97.8% and 99.69 percentile respectively.
Reservation and Scholarship Provisions
Sastra has allocated 20% of seats for students from Trichy and Thanjavur. Additionally, special provisions have been made for students from northeastern states, Jammu and Kashmir, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Lakshadweep. The university also offers special scholarships for children of martyred or serving personnel of the Indian Armed Forces.
Counselling and Class Schedule
All counselling and admission-related updates are available at www.sastra.edu. Classes for the 2026-2027 batch will commence on August 3, as announced by Sastra Vice-Chancellor S Vaidhyasubramaniam.
