BBAU to Introduce Four New PG Courses from 2026-27

Dr Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU) is set to expand its academic offerings with the introduction of four new postgraduate courses starting from the 2026-27 academic session. The new programs include MA in English, MA in Geography, MSc in Psychology, and MSc in Cognitive Science.

Proposals for New Courses

The proposals for these courses will be presented before the university's academic council for final approval on Monday. Admission coordinator Prof Amit Kumar Singh confirmed the development, stating that the proposed intake capacity for each course has been determined.

Seat Allocation Details

According to Prof Singh, the MA in English and MA in Geography programs will each accommodate 40 students. Meanwhile, the MSc in Psychology and MSc in Cognitive Science programs will have 50 seats each, ensuring a total of 180 new postgraduate seats across the four disciplines.

This initiative is part of the university's ongoing efforts to diversify its curriculum and cater to the evolving academic interests of students. The introduction of Cognitive Science, in particular, reflects a growing emphasis on interdisciplinary studies that combine psychology, neuroscience, and artificial intelligence.
