CBSE Rejects Vedant's Revaluation Allegations

CBSE Clarifies Revaluation Result for Vedant

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially rejected allegations made by student Vedant regarding discrepancies in his Class 12 revaluation results. The board clarified that Vedant's marks increased by 11, not 2 as he claimed.

Vedant's Initial Complaint

Vedant had earlier alleged that after applying for revaluation of his answer scripts, his marks increased by only 2, raising concerns about the process. He claimed that the board had failed to properly evaluate his papers.

CBSE's Detailed Response

In a statement, CBSE said that a thorough verification was conducted and it was found that Vedant's marks actually increased by 11 across different subjects. The board provided a subject-wise breakdown: in one subject, he gained 5 marks; in another, 4; and in two others, 1 mark each, totaling 11 marks. According to CBSE officials, the initial confusion arose because Vedant might have misinterpreted the revised marksheet.

Process of Revaluation

CBSE's revaluation process involves rechecking of answer scripts by a different examiner. The board emphasized that the process is transparent and any discrepancies are addressed promptly. "The revaluation results are final and based on rigorous evaluation," a CBSE spokesperson said.

Impact on Students

This incident has sparked discussions among students and parents about the reliability of the revaluation process. Many have expressed concerns over communication gaps between the board and students. However, CBSE has assured that it will improve the clarity of result notifications to avoid such misunderstandings in the future.
