IMT Nagpur Celebrates Convocation for 350+ Management Graduates
Nagpur: The Institute of Management Technology (IMT) Nagpur held its convocation ceremony on Saturday, marking a significant milestone for over 350 postgraduate students from the 2023–25 batch. The event, hosted on campus, saw industry leaders deliver powerful messages about navigating the challenges and opportunities of a rapidly evolving global economy.
Industry Leaders Emphasize Adaptation in AI-Driven World
At the ceremony, chief guest Atul Jain, Managing Director of VIP Industries, addressed the graduating class, highlighting the critical need to adapt to digital disruption and artificial intelligence. "The world you are entering is digitally accelerating, structurally uncertain, and ethically demanding," Jain stated. He encouraged students to view uncertainty not as a barrier but as a catalyst for innovation and growth.
Jain further shared leadership insights, urging graduates to cultivate what he termed a 'CEO mindset.' He outlined six key tenets for success: curiosity, entrepreneurial spirit, open-mindedness, commitment, exceptional focus on execution, and an owner's mindset. "These principles will guide you in building a resilient and impactful career," he added.
Academic Achievements and New Beginnings Highlighted
The convocation also featured a video message from Kamal Nath, chief mentor of the IMT group, who described the event as the commencement of a new journey for the graduates. IMT Nagpur director Rajneesh Chauhan congratulated the students and underscored the institute's academic advancements, including its recent entry into the top 100 management institutes in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) rankings.
During the ceremony, diplomas were awarded to 353 students from various postgraduate programs, including the PGDM, PGDM (marketing), and PGDM (financial management) courses. This diverse group of graduates now steps into a professional landscape where adaptability and skill enhancement are paramount.
Navigating Global Economic Challenges
Industry speakers at the event stressed the importance of sharpening skills and seizing opportunities amid an AI-driven and uncertain global economy. They pointed to broader geopolitical and economic contexts, such as conflicts and trade dynamics, as factors that graduates must consider in their career planning. The emphasis was on proactive learning and innovation to thrive in a competitive environment.
The convocation served as both a celebration of academic accomplishment and a call to action for the new graduates to lead with agility and foresight in their future endeavors.
