Karnataka Bank Chairman P Pradeep Kumar delivered a powerful message about youth empowerment in Mangaluru. He spoke during the National Youth Day celebrations held at the Swami Vivekananda Sabha Hall of Ramakrishna Math.
Youth as a Transformative Force
Pradeep Kumar highlighted Swami Vivekananda's enduring vision. The spiritual leader consistently viewed young people as a powerful driving force for development. He recognized their true strength and emphasized harnessing this energy to transform the nation.
"Vivekananda recognised the true strength of the youth and always emphasised on utilising this to transform the nation," the bank chairman stated. He added that learning about the world remains a lifelong process for everyone.
Celebrating Amrita Mahotsava
The event formed part of the Amrita Mahotsava celebrations organized by the Mangaluru Ramakrishna Mission. It brought together several dignitaries and a large student gathering.
Chief guest N Ranganath Bhat shared his personal connection to Vivekananda's teachings. "From my childhood, the thoughts of Swami Vivekananda influenced me in many ways. His words were a constant source of inspiration," said Bhat, who serves as honorary secretary of the Mangaluru Canara High School association.
He further noted that understanding Swami Vivekananda's philosophy guides individuals toward a more meaningful and fulfilled life.
Distinguished Gathering
The program featured several notable personalities. Swami Jnananishanandaji, associate editor of the Prabuddha Bharata monthly magazine from Advaita Ashrama in Mayavati, Uttarakhand, graced the occasion.
Swami Jitakamanandaji, secretary of the Mangaluru Ramakrishna Mission, delivered the introductory address. Writer and thinker Chakravarthy Sulibele also attended the event.
Active Student Participation
More than 500 students actively participated in the National Youth Day program. They came from prominent local institutions including Karnataka Polytechnic in Mangaluru and Niranjana Swamy Polytechnic at Srinivasa College.
Their involvement underscored the event's core message of engaging youth in national development and spiritual growth, inspired by Swami Vivekananda's timeless ideals.
