Belagavi District Gears Up for II PUC Examinations

The Belagavi district in Karnataka is making comprehensive preparations for the upcoming II PUC (Pre-University Course) examinations, scheduled to be held from February 28 to March 17. A total of 51,938 students have registered to appear for these crucial exams across the two educational divisions of Belagavi and Chikkodi, marking a significant academic event in the region.

Examination Centers and Security Measures

To accommodate the large number of examinees, authorities have designated 95 examination centers throughout the district. All necessary arrangements have been completed to ensure a smooth and efficient conduct of the exams. Prohibitory measures have been imposed around these centers to create a disturbance-free environment, allowing students to focus entirely on their performance.

In terms of security, CCTV cameras are being installed at all examination centers to monitor activities and prevent any malpractices. Additionally, basic facilities such as drinking water will be provided at each center to support the comfort and well-being of students during the examination period.

Student Registration Breakdown

The registration data reveals a detailed breakdown of student categories. In the Belagavi educational district, 22,411 students are set to write the exam. This includes 19,981 regular students, 1,900 repeaters, 501 students directly facing the exam, and 29 students registered to improve their results. For this division, 41 examination centers have been identified across 6 taluk centers, including Belagavi city.

In the Chikodi educational district, the numbers are even higher, with 27,110 regular students, 1,795 repeaters, 614 students directly facing the exam, and 8 students aiming to improve their results. A total of 54 examination centers have been set up in 8 taluks within this division.

The examination centers are strategically distributed across various taluks to ensure accessibility for all students. The breakdown includes:

  • 20 centers in Belagavi taluk
  • 10 centers in Raibag
  • 9 centers in Athani
  • 8 centers each in Gokak and Hukkeri
  • 7 centers each in Chikodi and Bailhongal
  • 5 centers each in Ramdurg and Mudalagi taluk
  • 4 centers in Kagwad
  • 3 centers each in Savadatti, Kittur, Nippani, and Khanapur taluk

Logistics and Student Support

To facilitate timely arrival at examination centers, the education department has arranged bus transport services for students. This initiative aims to minimize delays and ensure that all examinees can reach their designated centers punctually, reducing stress on exam days.

MM Kamble, the deputy director of PU Belagavi, highlighted efforts to enhance student performance. He stated that various experiments were conducted at the college level to boost the results of the Second PUC this year. According to Kamble, these initiatives have significantly boosted the self-confidence of the students, preparing them better for the challenges ahead.
