Bihar Board to Announce Class X and Class XII Results; Top Rankers to Receive Cash Prizes on Medha Diwas

The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) is poised to announce the highly anticipated results for the Class X and Class XII board examinations in the coming days. In a significant move to honor academic excellence, the board will distribute substantial cash prizes and rewards to the top-performing students on December 3, which is celebrated as Medha Diwas. This annual event underscores the state's commitment to recognizing and nurturing the brightest minds from across Bihar.

Financial Incentives for Top Rankers Across Both Classes

For students who have excelled in the Class X and Class XII board exams, the Bihar School Examination Board has outlined a detailed reward structure. The top three rank holders in both classes will receive significant cash prizes. Specifically, the student securing the first rank will be awarded Rs 2 lakh, while the second and third rank holders will receive Rs 1.5 lakh and Rs 1 lakh, respectively. This initiative aims to motivate students to strive for academic excellence and continue their educational pursuits with dedication.

Expanded Recognition for Class X and Class XII Students

The recognition for academic achievement extends beyond the top three positions. For Class XII students, the financial rewards are designated for the top five ranks across all three academic streams—Science, Commerce, and Arts. Students securing the fourth and fifth ranks will be awarded Rs 30,000 each. Similarly, for Class X students, the recognition is even more extensive, with those placing from the fourth to the tenth rank receiving Rs 20,000 each.

In addition to these cash incentives, every rank holder will be honored with a medal, a certificate of merit, and a laptop. These laptops are intended to assist students in their future academic endeavors, providing them with the necessary tools to excel in higher education and beyond.

Long-Term Support Through Structured Scholarship Programs

Beyond the immediate celebrations on Medha Diwas, the Bihar School Examination Board ensures long-term support for top performers through structured scholarship programs. For Class X rank holders, the state provides a monthly stipend of Rs 2,000 until they complete their Class 12 education. This financial assistance is designed to ease the burden on families and encourage students to continue their studies without interruption.

For the high achievers of Class 12, the support continues into their higher education. They receive a monthly stipend of Rs 2,500, which covers the entire duration of their graduation. This initiative aims to facilitate a smooth financial transition into higher education, allowing students to focus on their academic goals without worrying about economic constraints.

Official Statement and Past Achievements

BSEB Public Relations Officer Rajeev Dwivedi emphasized the importance of these incentives. "These incentives are given to students so that they continue pursuing education with the same dedication and are inspired to do better," he stated. This approach reflects the board's broader strategy to foster a culture of academic excellence and lifelong learning among Bihar's youth.

In 2025, a total of 151 students were granted cash prizes and scholarships under this program. This cohort included 123 Class X rank holders and 28 students from Class XII, highlighting the widespread impact of the initiative. The annual celebration of Medha Diwas continues to expand its reach, ensuring that more students are recognized for their hard work and achievements.

The upcoming announcement of the Bihar board results is eagerly awaited by students, parents, and educators across the state. As the board prepares to honor the top performers, the focus remains on encouraging academic dedication and providing sustained support for the educational journeys of Bihar's young scholars.
