APSRTC Announces Free Bus Travel for SSC Students During 2026 Exams
The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) has rolled out a significant initiative to support students by offering free bus travel for those appearing in the SSC Class X public examinations in 2026. This move is designed to ensure that students can reach their examination centers without any inconvenience, thereby reducing stress and promoting better academic performance.
Details of the Free Travel Facility
A total of 6.42 lakh students are scheduled to appear for the public examinations from March 16 to April 1, 2026. These students will be allowed to travel free of cost on APSRTC buses by simply producing their hall tickets. The free travel facility will be available on Palle Velugu, Ultra Palle Velugu, and City Ordinary bus services, covering a wide range of routes to accommodate students from various locations.
Operational Guidelines and Coordination
The RTC has clarified that the free bus travel will be provided only on the examination dates. Importantly, this facility will remain in force even if a government or general holiday falls on an examination date, ensuring uninterrupted access for students. Authorities have instructed staff not to insist on bus passes from students during the examination period, streamlining the process to avoid delays or hassles.
To further prevent any inconvenience, APSRTC officials have been directed to coordinate closely with district education authorities. This collaboration aims to assess demand and operate additional buses wherever required, ensuring that all students can travel smoothly to their exam centers. This proactive approach highlights the corporation's commitment to supporting education and easing logistical challenges for examinees.
Impact and Benefits for Students
This initiative is expected to have a positive impact on students by alleviating transportation concerns, which can often be a source of anxiety during exam periods. By providing free and reliable bus services, APSRTC is helping to create a conducive environment for students to focus on their studies and perform to the best of their abilities. The move also underscores the importance of public-private partnerships in enhancing educational outcomes and supporting youth in their academic endeavors.
