Hanuman Singh Rathore Appointed RBSE Chairman After 4 Years

The Rajasthan education department issued a notification on Saturday appointing Hanuman Singh Rathore as the new chairman of the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE). The post had been vacant for four years, following the removal of former chairman DP Jalori in January 2022 after a board exam paper leak surfaced.

Appointment and Term

Rathore is expected to assume charge in the coming days and will serve a three-year term. The state government has also appointed Ajmer Divisional Commissioner Shakti Singh Rathore as administrator for the board.

Background of the New Chairman

Hanuman Singh Rathore, a resident of Ajmer from the Pisangan block, currently lives in Bhunabai. He is a retired government school principal, well-known in education circles, and has been active on teachers' issues. He has also been associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

Context of the Vacancy

The RBSE chairman position had been unfilled since January 2022, when DP Jalori was removed following a board exam paper leak incident that raised concerns about the integrity of the examination process. The four-year gap in leadership has now been addressed with Rathore's appointment.
