Former Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik criticized the BJP government after hundreds of errors were found in Odia textbooks for classes 1 to 8. He stated that this reflects the irresponsible and careless attitude of the government.
Textbook Errors and Delays
Patnaik highlighted that while the government fails to provide textbooks on time, the ones that are distributed contain numerous mistakes, disappointing students' educational aspirations.
Congress Leader's Remarks
Odisha Congress chief Bhakta Charan Das noted that around 1,678 major mistakes were found in the books for classes 1-8. He pointed out that Rs 50 crore was spent on these textbooks, and the syllabus was prepared in six months, whereas NCERT takes 3-4 years.
Impact on Education
The errors have raised concerns about the quality of education and the government's commitment to students' learning. The opposition has demanded accountability and immediate correction of the textbooks.
