NTA Announces JEE Main 2026 Session 2 Application Correction Window

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced the opening of the application correction window for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 Session 2. This crucial facility will be available starting February 27, 2026, providing candidates with a final opportunity to rectify any errors in their submitted forms.

Correction Window Details and Deadline

Candidates who have already submitted their JEE Main Session 2 application forms will be able to access the correction facility through the official NTA portal at jeemain.nta.nic.in. The window will remain open until February 28, 2026, at 11:50 PM, after which no further modifications will be permitted. This one-time opportunity is extended to both fresh applicants for Session 2 and those who previously appeared in JEE Main 2026 Session 1 and registered again for the second session.

Eligibility for Using the Correction Window

The correction window is specifically designed for two categories of candidates:

  • Fresh Applicants: Candidates who applied exclusively for JEE Main 2026 Session 2 during the registration period from February 1 to February 25, 2026.
  • Existing Candidates: Those who registered during the Session 1 application period (October 31 to November 27, 2025) and subsequently reapplied for Session 2 between February 1 and February 25, 2026.

It is important to note that the fields available for editing differ significantly between these two groups, and candidates must adhere to the specific guidelines applicable to their category.

Editable Fields for Existing Candidates

Existing candidates, who have participated in both sessions, are permitted to modify the following details:

  1. Selected course or paper
  2. Medium of the question paper
  3. State code of eligibility
  4. Choice of examination cities from the available options
  5. Class 10 and Class 12 educational details
  6. Gender and category information
  7. Identity details, but only if registration was completed using an identity proof other than Aadhaar
  8. Fee payment details, if required

Candidates should be aware that depending on the nature of the changes made, an additional correction fee may be applicable. This fee structure is determined by the NTA and must be paid to finalize the corrections.

Editable Fields for New Candidates

New candidates, who applied only for Session 2, have a different set of editable fields. They cannot change the following details:

  • Mobile number and email address
  • Permanent and present address
  • Emergency contact details
  • Live or uploaded photograph

However, they are allowed to edit or correct:

  1. Candidate's name, father's name, or mother's name
  2. Class 10 and Class 12 educational details
  3. State code of eligibility
  4. Date of birth
  5. Gender, category, sub-category, or PwD status, provided it has not been verified through the UDID portal
  6. Signature
  7. Paper opted for

Additionally, based on any changes made to address details, candidates may update their examination city choice and medium of examination. Identity details can only be corrected if the initial registration was done using an identity proof other than Aadhaar.

Post-Correction Window Procedures

Once the correction window closes on February 28, the NTA will proceed with the next steps in the examination process. This includes the release of the advance city intimation slip and the JEE Main 2026 Session 2 admit card. These critical documents will contain essential information such as the exam date, shift timing, and the allotted exam city and centre.

Candidates are strongly advised to meticulously review all details on these documents and plan their travel arrangements in advance, particularly if the assigned exam centre is located outside their home city. Given that no further opportunities to edit the application form will be provided after the deadline, candidates must exercise extreme caution while making corrections to avoid any discrepancies that could affect their examination process.
