Tragic Bike Accidents Mar Madhyamik Exams in Howrah

A somber cloud has descended over Howrah as the Madhyamik examinations, a critical milestone for secondary students in West Bengal, have been overshadowed by tragic road accidents. In a heartbreaking incident, a 16-year-old student lost his life, while several others sustained injuries in separate bike mishaps over the weekend.

Fatal Accident Claims Young Life

Tauhid Middya, a student of Bargachhia Priyanath School, tragically passed away at SSKM Hospital on Saturday morning. The young scholar had been injured in a severe bike accident while returning home after appearing for a Madhyamik paper on Friday. The accident occurred at Hatal Manashatala in Howrah, where Middya was riding on one of two bikes carrying a total of four boys. Despite medical efforts, his injuries proved fatal, cutting short a promising life during the crucial exam period.

Second Accident Injures More Students

In a separate but equally distressing incident on Saturday, three more Madhyamik students were injured in another bike accident at Jaypur in Howrah. These students were also on their way back home after completing their examination for the day. The back-to-back accidents have raised serious concerns about road safety, particularly for students commuting during exam times.

Community in Mourning

The local community and educational institutions are reeling from these tragic events. The loss of Tauhid Middya has sent shockwaves through Bargachhia Priyanath School and the wider Howrah area. Authorities are urging heightened caution on the roads, especially for young students who may be under stress or fatigue from rigorous exam schedules.

These incidents underscore the urgent need for improved road safety measures and greater awareness among students and parents during examination periods. As investigations into the accidents continue, the focus remains on supporting the affected families and preventing such tragedies in the future.
