Maharashtra Authorities Announce Strict Action Against Exam Malpractices

In a significant move to restore integrity to the education system, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Divisional Commissioner Jitendra Papalkar has declared that school and college managements, along with candidates and examination center staff, will face severe consequences for any malpractices during the upcoming Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and Secondary School Certificate (SSC) board examinations.

Addressing Widespread Irregularities

The divisional commissioner expressed deep concern over recent incidents that have damaged the region's academic reputation. "The glaring irregularities at some examination centers in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar division became a talking point across the state, tarnishing the image of the region," Papalkar stated. He emphasized that all educational agencies must operate with heightened responsibility to prevent future occurrences of such misconduct.

Enhanced Vigilance Measures Implemented

To ensure examination transparency, Papalkar has directed officials to strengthen multiple monitoring systems:

  • Control Rooms: Enhanced facilities in each district to coordinate examination oversight.
  • Flying Squads: Mobile teams deployed for surprise inspections at examination centers.
  • Vigilance Systems: Comprehensive monitoring mechanisms to detect and prevent malpractices.

Additionally, police administrations across all Marathwada districts have received instructions to promptly register criminal cases at locations where examination irregularities are discovered during board exams.

Recent Incidents Prompt Precautionary Actions

The directive follows viral videos exposing malpractices at Chousala in Beed district, which prompted immediate administrative response. As a precautionary measure, authorities have established:

  1. Separate control rooms for all 103 examination centers in Beed district.
  2. 103 dedicated squads corresponding to each examination center for continuous monitoring.
  3. Regular inspection protocols at all district examination centers.

Disciplinary Actions Already Underway

Administrative measures have already been initiated against staff involved in recent irregularities. Suspension proceedings have been proposed against a group of staff members from the Chousala center, along with personnel from a rural center in Kannad taluka of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district.

"Keeping in mind the future of the students, it is necessary that exams be held in a disciplined environment. All officers, employees and institution managers should work together to achieve this," Commissioner Papalkar emphasized, highlighting the collective responsibility required to maintain examination integrity.

The comprehensive crackdown represents Maharashtra education authorities' determined effort to eliminate malpractices and ensure fair examination conditions for all students participating in the crucial HSC and SSC board examinations.
