Rajasthan School Headmaster Suspended Over Non-Vegetarian Food Cooking on Campus

A primary government school headmaster in Rajasthan's Sawai Madhopur district found himself suspended on Tuesday. The suspension followed allegations that he arranged for non-vegetarian food to be cooked right on the school campus. This action triggered significant outrage among local residents who were deeply upset by the incident.

Viral Video Sparks Controversy

A video circulated widely across various social media platforms showed the school cook actively preparing meat on the institute's premises. The cook was reportedly making the food for the headmaster, identified as Amar Singh Meena. The incident itself occurred on Monday at the school located in Hingota village within Gangapur city tehsil.

It is important to note that the school had extended winter vacations for students up to class 8 due to the prevailing cold wave conditions. This meant the campus was largely empty of students at the time.

Investigation Launched Promptly

After the video surfaced online, District Education Officer Devilal Meena took swift action. He formed a three-member committee specifically to investigate the matter. The committee immediately began its probe into the allegations against the headmaster.

Villagers Discover the Activity

In the viral video, a villager makes a serious allegation. He claims the school gates were locked from the inside while the cook prepared the non-vegetarian food. This locked gate naturally raised suspicions among the villagers.

Driven by curiosity and concern, some villagers decided to scale the school's boundary walls to enter the campus. Once inside, they witnessed the cooking activity firsthand.

Headmaster's Response Captured on Video

The video also captures the moment the headmaster was confronted by the villagers. When questioned about the incident, Amar Singh Meena is heard giving a direct response. He tells the villagers, "Whatever you have seen, you can inform the district education officer, and they can take suitable action."

This statement, recorded in the video, preceded the official suspension order that was issued the following day. The case highlights tensions over cultural and dietary norms within institutional settings.
