Who Can Apply for the Textbook Writing Role?
SCERT has outlined specific eligibility criteria for prospective applicants. Individuals must possess a minimum educational qualification in the relevant subject they wish to write for. The selection process will not rely on academic credentials alone. The council will shortlist candidates based on a combination of their teaching experience, deep expertise in pedagogy, and any prior experience in drafting textbooks or sample lessons.
"We aim to broaden the pool of experts available for writing textbooks. Those who have prior experience will naturally be preferred," stated B Chandra Mohan, the School Education Secretary. This move indicates a desire to blend fresh perspectives with seasoned proficiency.

It is crucial for applicants to note that the final date for submitting both the completed application and the required draft lessons is December 20. No extensions are expected, so timely submission is essential.
Committees Formed for Curriculum Overhaul
To steer this significant revision, the state government has constituted two specialized committees. These are a high-level expert committee and a curriculum design committee. Their primary task is to meticulously revise the entire curriculum and syllabus framework for the state board. In their inaugural meeting, a key decision was made to release the draft curriculum for Classes I to XII as early as this December, setting the stage for the subsequent textbook development phase.
