Jharkhand's Sudipa Dutta Achieves 41st Rank in UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025

In a moment of immense pride for Jharkhand, Sudipa Dutta has secured the 41st rank in the highly competitive Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2025. The results were officially announced by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Friday. Sudipa emerged as the top performer from Jharkhand among eight successful candidates from the state who qualified in this prestigious examination.

Persistent Journey to Success

The 25-year-old Sudipa achieved this remarkable feat in her third attempt at the examination. Her journey was marked by resilience and continuous improvement. In her initial attempt, inadequate preparation led to her elimination at the preliminary stage. However, she demonstrated strong determination by advancing to the interview stage in 2023, and now has secured an impressive 41st rank in the final results. Additionally, Sudipa recently achieved the 24th rank in the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) examination, showcasing her consistent academic excellence.

Academic Background and Preparation Strategy

Sudipa shared details of her educational journey, stating, "I completed my Class 10 from St Joseph School in Banka, Bihar, with 95.8% marks, and Class 12 in science from Sido Kanhu Vidyalaya in Dumka with 92.4%. My graduation was in political science from Aditya Narayan College, Dumka, where I secured a 7.8 CGPA."

Remarkably, Sudipa prepared entirely from Dumka, utilizing online resources and making regular visits to the local government library. She emphasized her rigorous study routine, stating, "I studied over 10 hours daily" to achieve her goal.

Family Support and Background

Sudipa comes from a supportive family. Her father, Sachchidanand Dutta, serves in the postal department, while her mother, Pampa, is a homemaker. She has two younger sisters and a brother, all of whom are currently pursuing their studies.

Other Successful Candidates from Jharkhand

The UPSC CSE 2025 results brought success to several other candidates from Jharkhand:

  • Apurva Verma secured the 42nd rank
  • Tejaswini Singh achieved the 62nd rank
  • Shubham Kumar Mahto obtained an all-India rank of 142

All three of these candidates hail from Bokaro district.

Additionally, Bipul Gupta, a 25-year-old metallurgical engineer from Latehar district, secured the 103rd rank. Md Ishteyaque Rahman from Ranchi's Doranda area ranked 354th in the final list. The 25-year-old, currently employed as an immigration officer at Hyderabad airport, cleared the examination on his third attempt.

Other successful candidates include Niharika Sinha, 25, from Kulipada mohalla in Sahibganj district who secured the 365th rank, and Shruti Modi, 27, from Barora in Dhanbad district (her maternal uncle's home), who was ranked 569.
