Admit Card Released for Uttar Pradesh Ashram School Entrance Examination
The Social Welfare Department of Uttar Pradesh has officially released the admit card for the entrance examination of Jay Prakash Narayan Sarvodaya Vidyalaya in Lucknow. Candidates who have successfully registered for admission can now download their hall tickets from the department's official portal.
Examination Schedule and Admit Card Details
Initially scheduled for release on March 10, 2026, the admit card was made available online on March 11, 2026. The entrance examination for admission to the Government Ashram System Schools is set to be conducted on March 15, 2026. It is mandatory for all candidates to bring a printed copy of their admit card along with a valid identity proof to the examination centre. The results of this entrance test are anticipated to be declared on March 23, 2026.
Admission Eligibility and Process
Admission to Government Ashram Vidyalayas is primarily reserved for students whose parents fall below the poverty line. The annual income limits are strictly defined as follows:
- Rs 46,080 for families residing in rural areas
- Rs 56,460 for families living in urban areas
In cases where the number of students in classes other than Grade 6 is less than 70, admissions may also be facilitated through a lateral entry examination for external candidates. For higher classes, the admission process varies: Grades 7, 8, and 9 will require a school-level entrance examination, while Grade 11 vacancies will be filled based on merit determined by Class 10 marks.
Faculty Determination for Grade 11
For higher secondary classes, different academic streams will be offered based on eligibility and student demand:
- Science Stream: Schools will admit up to 70 students per class. Eligibility criteria include a minimum of 60% aggregate marks and 55% marks in Science and Mathematics in Class 10.
- Commerce Stream: One school at the district level will establish a Commerce faculty to cater to interested students.
- Humanities Stream: Admissions will depend on the number of students who passed Class 10, their electives, and personal interests. A minimum of 15 students is required to initiate this faculty.
