Uttar Pradesh Headmistress Suspended After Viral Video Shows Student Giving Her Foot Massage
A headmistress at a government primary school in Chitrakoot district, Uttar Pradesh, has been suspended following the circulation of a viral video that allegedly shows her receiving a foot massage from a student during school hours. The incident has sparked significant controversy and prompted immediate administrative action.
Viral Video Details and School Location
The incident occurred at the Government Primary School in Naya Bazar, Karbi, where Madhu Rai serves as the headmistress. On Thursday night, a 23-second video clip began circulating widely on social media platforms. In the footage, Madhu Rai is seen lying on the floor of a classroom, engrossed in her mobile phone, while girls from grade V, dressed in school uniforms, are seated on benches. One of the students is visibly massaging the headmistress's feet.
Administrative Response and Suspension
Basic Siksha Adhikari (BSA) BK Sharma stated that upon noticing the video, he dispatched an inspection team to the school on Friday. However, Madhu Rai was on medical leave at the time. Based on the inspection report, which included allegations from students that such massages were a regular occurrence, Sharma proceeded to suspend the headmistress.
"I have suspended her on the basis of the inspection report in which students have alleged that she used to have regular massage by them," Sharma confirmed. He also noted that Madhu Rai is nearing retirement, with only a couple of years remaining in her service.
Headmistress's Defense and Denial
In response to the allegations, Madhu Rai has vehemently denied any wrongdoing. She claims that the viral video is fabricated and has been doctored using artificial intelligence (AI) tools to create a false narrative. Despite her defense, the suspension stands as the investigation continues.
The case highlights ongoing concerns about conduct and discipline in educational institutions, particularly in government schools. Authorities are emphasizing the importance of maintaining a professional and respectful environment for students, free from any form of exploitation or inappropriate behavior.
