UPPSC PCS 2024 Main Results Out, 2,719 Qualify for Interview

UPPSC Announces PCS 2024 Main Examination Results, Over 2,700 Candidates Advance

The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has officially declared the results for the Combined State/Senior Subordinate Services (PCS) Examination-2024 main written examination. This significant announcement was made late on Wednesday night, marking a crucial milestone in the state's prestigious recruitment drive.

Key Statistics and Recruitment Details

A total of 2,719 candidates have been declared successful and have now qualified for the subsequent interview stage. The PCS examination is being conducted to fill 947 posts across various departments within the Uttar Pradesh government. The written examination itself was held from June 29 to July 2, 2025, in the cities of Lucknow and Prayagraj, with an impressive 13,776 candidates appearing for the test.

The recruitment process encompasses a wide array of 24 categories of posts, including key administrative and subordinate services vital for the state's governance. According to the commission's detailed breakdown, selection for 60 of these posts will be made solely on the basis of the written examination scores. However, the results for these specific positions will be declared concurrently with the final selection outcome.

Selection Process and Legal Considerations

For the remaining 887 posts, the selection process is a two-stage affair, comprising both the written examination and a personal interview. It is against these posts that the 2,719 candidates have been shortlisted. UPPSC Secretary Ashok Kumar provided important clarifications regarding ongoing legal matters.

He noted that there are currently 15 writ petitions related to the PCS examination pending before the Allahabad High Court. As a result, the results of candidates who are petitioners in these cases have not been declared at this time. The outcomes for these individuals will remain subject to the final decisions passed by the High Court.

Furthermore, the results of women candidates belonging to states outside Uttar Pradesh will also be held in abeyance, pending the final judgment of the High Court in a special appeal filed by the Uttar Pradesh government.

Next Steps and Important Advisories

Secretary Kumar emphasized that detailed information regarding post preferences and the official interview schedule will be issued separately in the near future. He also made a critical announcement concerning candidate marks.

The marks obtained by candidates in the main examination, along with the cut-off marks and other related details, will be released only after the declaration of the final selection result. Consequently, the commission has strongly advised candidates not to submit applications under the Right to Information Act, 2005, seeking details related to marks or cut-off scores at this preliminary stage.

The results are now available for viewing on the commission's official website. All successful candidates are urged to monitor official communications closely for further instructions regarding the interview process and final selection procedures.
