Yadgir Teachers Launch 24/7 School Mission to Revamp SSLC Outcomes

In a determined effort to uplift academic performance in the educationally backward district of Yadgir, teachers have embarked on an extraordinary mission, transforming Kakkera Government High School into a round-the-clock learning hub. This innovative initiative, titled 'Government School Without Closed Doors,' aims to drastically improve SSLC results by providing continuous academic support to students.

Addressing Educational Backwardness Through Non-Stop Teaching

Yadgir has long struggled with poor SSLC performance, consistently ranking at the bottom in state results. To combat this, educators at the Shorapur taluk school have taken up the challenge personally, conducting classes day and night. The campus remains open 24 hours a day specifically for SSLC candidates, with teachers working in shifts to ensure uninterrupted learning.

"One teacher stays with the students overnight, and we even arrange meals for them," explained Basaiah Swamy, a science teacher involved in the program. "After lessons conclude at 11 PM, students sleep on campus and resume studies at 5 AM."

Structured Learning and Student Support System

The program involves 129 SSLC candidates out of more than 550 students in Classes 8 to 10. A fixed timetable has been implemented for different subjects, with classes held in the morning, afternoon, evening, and night. While girl students attend until 6 PM before returning home, boys stay overnight at the school premises.

Official Recognition and Future Impact

Education department officials have praised the teachers' commitment, recognizing this initiative as a potential model for improving performance in backward districts. The special learning arrangement, which has been operational for the past week, represents a significant departure from regular school hours that typically run from 9:30 AM to 4 PM.

With SSLC exams approaching, this 24/7 teaching strategy serves as both an academic boost and a motivational tool, encouraging students to focus intensely on their studies. The program aims not only to improve immediate exam results but also to help Yadgir shed its label as an educationally disadvantaged district through sustained efforts in student learning enhancement.
