Asha Parekh reveals Lata Mangeshkar found 'Suno Sajna' most difficult song
Asha Parekh shares Lata Mangeshkar's toughest song anecdote

Veteran actress Asha Parekh, who has acted in over 85 films, remains one of Hindi cinema's most celebrated stars. Recently, she appeared on the singing reality show Indian Idol and revisited a memorable chapter from Hindi cinema. The actress shared an interesting anecdote involving legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar and one of the most iconic songs filmed on her during the golden era of Bollywood.

'Suno Sajna' was difficult even for Lata Mangeshkar

Asha Parekh revealed that the song 'Suno Sajna' from the film Aaye Din Bahar Ke, starring Dharmendra, was considered extremely difficult by Lata Mangeshkar herself. Recalling the moment, Asha Parekh said, 'She had once said in an interview that this song was the most difficult one for her because the vocal runs were very long and it was sung in a very high pitch. Even I found it slightly difficult to lip-sync to it.' The actress explained that the composition demanded great vocal control because of its high pitch and lengthy musical portions. She also admitted that performing and lip-syncing to the song during filming was equally difficult for her.

Asha Bhosle's challenging song also remembered

During the same conversation, Asha Parekh also spoke about another technically difficult song connected to her career. This time, she mentioned Asha Bhosle and the popular track 'Daiya Re Daiya Main Kahan Phasi' from the film Caravan. She shared, 'Similarly, Asha ji herself had said that her most difficult song was 'Daiya Re Daiya Main Kahan Phasi' from Caravan. It was extremely difficult. Both sisters sang these challenging songs, and I feel very lucky that both of those songs came to me.' The actress expressed gratitude for getting an opportunity to perform on songs sung by both legendary sisters. She described herself as fortunate that such iconic and challenging songs became part of her cinematic journey.
