The much-anticipated Malayalam film 'Ashakal Aayiram' has officially locked its release date. Starring the celebrated father-son duo Jayaram and Kalidas Jayaram, the movie will hit theaters worldwide on February 6, 2026.

A Long-Awaited Reunion on Screen

This project marks a special moment for Malayalam cinema fans. Jayaram and Kalidas are teaming up for a Malayalam film after 22 long years. Their last collaboration in the language was the beloved 2004 film 'Ente Veedu Appuvinteyum'.

While they did appear together in the 2020 Tamil anthology 'Putham Pudhu Kaalai', audiences in Kerala have been eagerly waiting for their return to Malayalam. The wait is finally over.

The production team made the announcement through an official post on Instagram. The post clearly stated, "Ashakal Aayiram movie is releasing worldwide on 6th February 2026."

Kalidas Jayaram has previously spoken about the film's emotional significance. He described it as "a moment 25 years in the making." According to him, the story is a tribute to father-son relationships, to all dreamers, and to the powerful feeling of returning home.

The film is directed by G Prajith, known for his work on popular movies like Nivin Pauly's 'Oru Vadakkan Selfie' and the Biju Menon starrer 'Sathyam Paranja Viswasikkuvo'.

A recently released glimpse from the film has already captured audience attention. It shows a hilarious scene where a drunk father and son arrive home and desperately try to act sober. Jayaram plays the father, paired opposite Asha Sharath as his wife. Kalidas takes on the role of their son.
