Actress Nidhhi Agerwal recently appeared in the Prabhas-led film 'The Raja Saab,' which hit theaters on January 9, 2026. Known for her roles in action thriller dramas, she now openly shares her wish to explore romantic love stories.
Nidhhi Agerwal's Shift to Romance
In a chat with India Today, Nidhhi Agerwal revealed her next career move. She wants to take on a love story project. The actress explained her recent work on a period action adventure film set in a unique world. She hopes to transition into romance dramas soon.
"Honestly, what I want to do next is a love story. I would really love to do a love story because I worked on a period film before this with Pawan Kalyan sir, and that was like a completely different world. This (Raja Saab) is again a completely different world—fantasy and all of that," she said.
Embracing Simplicity in Storytelling
Having participated in projects with extensive visual effects, Nidhhi now looks for simpler narratives. She specifically mentioned her interest in a period love story. The actress elaborated on her vision for such a film.
"So now I want to do a period love story film that gets over in three to six months of shooting. No CG, no VFX, simple looks. I just want to do a period film after this and then maybe come back again to this genre," she added.
Upcoming Projects and Reflections
Discussing her future work, Nidhhi Agerwal noted she has three films lined up. These include one Telugu movie and two Hindi productions. Reflecting on the past year, she expressed optimism for 2026.
"Everyone told me 2025 was my year, and I really feel like, in a lot of ways, it was. I was given a lot of love, but I really hope 2026 will be a great year as well," she shared.
'The Raja Saab' Box Office Performance
Nidhhi Agerwal's latest film 'The Raja Saab' has garnered mixed to negative reviews on social media platforms. The movie started with strong initial numbers but experienced a decline in box office earnings. According to Sacnilk, it earned over Rs 170.50 crore worldwide within four days of release.
