Despite wrapping himself with four separate blankets, the chilling sensations refused to diminish. Fellow inmates attempted to provide assistance by arranging additional blankets, while Bhatt consumed paracetamol medication hoping for symptomatic relief, yet the persistent fever continued unabated.
Prison Hospital Visit Reveals Systemic Shortcomings
Bhatt elaborated further on his distressing experience, writing "The following morning I proceeded to the prison medical facility. They possessed no thermometer equipment. They examined my oxygen levels and declared I appeared fine. I informed them they must be joking. I suffer from axial spondylarthritis, an autoimmune medical condition, and elevated fever can prove extremely dangerous for my health. The physician eventually wrote an authorization note permitting my transfer to an external hospital. But nobody arrived to facilitate this."
He continued describing the subsequent delays: "Initially, police personnel were occupied protecting a VIP individual. Subsequently they were engaged managing a tribal fair event. Day after consecutive day I waited patiently within the barrack confines. My daytime hours became filled with physical discomfort. My nighttime periods were dominated by fever episodes."
Self-Initiated Recovery Through Dietary Changes and Spiritual Faith
Recognizing that external assistance would not materialize promptly, Bhatt decided to assume control of his situation. He eliminated oil and salt completely from his dietary intake, consumed substantial quantities of water, and embraced spiritual practices, positioning himself before a painting depicting the Devi goddess within the barrack area. "I articulated, 'If you possess existence… if my devotional prayers to you have ever carried significance… demonstrate a miraculous intervention. I do not desire to perish within this location. My children require my presence. My wife needs my support. My ninety-year-old father depends upon me'", Bhatt emotionally recalled.
According to his detailed account, circumstances gradually commenced improvement. The fever intensity started diminishing, physical pain sensations alleviated, and he progressively recovered bodily strength. One particular morning, overwhelmed with profound gratitude, he gazed at the Devi representation and stated, "Thank you for restoring my life existence." Remarkably, only fifteen days afterward did police officials finally appear to transport him to a medical hospital facility.

Contemplating the entire challenging episode, Bhatt shared a subsequent conversation with a prison officer. "Later I inquired with an officer what protocol they would have implemented during a genuine emergency scenario. He responded casually, 'Oh, then we would have dispatched you accompanied by prison guard personnel.' Therefore they possessed capability to transfer me throughout the entire duration. Perhaps they deliberately chose not to proceed. Or possibly divine forces intended me to acquire specific lessons initially. Consequently when individuals assert divine absence, I refrain from argumentation. I simply maintain a smile expression. Because certain miraculous occurrences remain visible exclusively to the individual who required them", he concluded philosophically.
