The suspect, identified as 32-year-old Riaz Ahmed, a resident of Davangere, was taken into custody from his residence in the Shivaganga Nagar area. Police recovered a laptop, several mobile phones, and documents containing extremist literature during a search of his home. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) M. N. Anil Kumar confirmed the arrest, stating, "We have credible intelligence that the individual was in touch with operatives of a banned terror group. Investigations are ongoing to ascertain the full extent of his activities."
