Social Media Speculation Sparks Confusion
The controversy ignited when several entertainment news outlets published reports alleging that Vikrant Massey, acclaimed for his role in 12th Fail, had been part of the Ramayana ensemble but was subsequently replaced. These unverified claims quickly gained traction online, leading to significant confusion among fans and industry observers.
Massey's Firm Rebuttal on Instagram

He expressed disappointment that media outlets had reported on his supposed replacement without conducting proper verification.
"Ok, to put the rumours to rest, I was never a part of Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana," Massey wrote. "The many media outlets reporting about my supposed 'replacement' should've done the requisite background check. Disappointing. Nonetheless, wishing everyone involved in the movie all the very best. Love."
About Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana
Ramayana is a monumental two-part film adaptation of the ancient Indian epic, directed by Nitesh Tiwari. The production boasts an impressive star cast, with Ranbir Kapoor portraying Lord Ram, Yash as Ravana, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman.
The film is a collaborative production by Namit Malhotra's Prime Focus Studios and DNEG, alongside Yash's Monster Mind Creations. Set approximately 5,000 years ago, it aims to bring one of India's most cherished mythological narratives to the big screen with grand scale and reverence.
Vikrant Massey's Upcoming Projects
While distancing himself from the Ramayana rumors, Vikrant Massey remains busy with his own slate of projects. He is poised to make a return to the OTT space with the upcoming series Musafir Cafe, which features Vedika Pinto and Mahima Makwana in leading roles. Notably, this project also marks Massey's debut as a producer, adding a new dimension to his already versatile career in the entertainment industry.
