Franco-Moroccan Trio 'Alright Mela' Electrifies Bhopal with Melodious Performance
Bhopal's concert crowd experienced an eclectic and melodious blend of Franco-Moroccan flavours as the musical trio 'Alright Mela' took the stage at Bharat Bhavan. The packed amphitheatre was set alight as the band delivered peppy tunes that had the audience jiving and screaming for more.
The trio, comprising Markus, Cheb Xavi, and Jaouad El Garouge, dished out an instrumental melange rooted in tradition but carrying modern influences. Their 90-minute set featured exotic instruments such as Guembri, Oud, and Duduk, weaving Mediterranean grooves with hypnotic and electronic sounds, literally bringing the house down.
The musical presentation was an ode to ecology, human sentiments, and love. Each number the trio belted out had a distinct flavour and vibe that every member of the audience could connect with, creating a deeply immersive experience.
Before the concert, the instrumental artists met the press and shared what they described as something very special yet simple about their renditions. “There is one ritual we ask everyone to follow — make a fist, lift your hand up and dance,” they said. True to their word, the crowd danced to their hearts' content throughout the evening, with hands aloft, feeding off the band's electrifying and energetic musical presentation.
The trio, who have previously performed across the globe including Norway, France, Portugal, Spain, and Hungary, also had a heartfelt message for the youth. As they belted out their chartbusters, they reminded the roaring crowd to hold on to their joy and keep positivity alive even when life gets tough.
