Producer and writer Ishika Shahi has opened up about casting Priyanshi Yadav and Mishkat Verma in her new web show Tu Yaa Koi Nahi. Recalling her first impression of Priyanshi, Ishika said, “When I first met Priyanshi, she was incredibly soft-spoken, polite and humble. Looking at her, I wondered if she would be able to portray someone like Myra, who is loud, bold, emotional and intense.”
She added that her doubts vanished after Priyanshi’s audition. “The moment I saw her perform one of the scenes, I knew we had found our Myra. She is one of the most talented actors I've worked with. There were times when I found myself crying while watching her perform because she brought such authenticity and emotion to every scene.”
Speaking about Mishkat, who plays a double role, Ishika said, “Watching Mishkat switch between these two personalities was incredible. There were moments when he performed a scene so brilliantly that I started applauding.” She added, “Mishkat handled the challenge effortlessly. He mastered both characters, and audiences are going to love watching him. Not every actor can convincingly pull off two such contrasting personalities, but he did it beautifully.”
On releasing the show on YouTube, Ishika said, “I think it's a privilege to have audiences interact directly with your work and to be able to read their comments.” Looking ahead, she hopes viewers connect with the lead pair. “I really want audiences to fall in love with the chemistry between the characters and become eager to discover Ansh's past,” she said.
