Neetu Kapoor Reveals Why She Doesn't Believe in Therapy After Rishi Kapoor's Death
Neetu Kapoor Opens Up About Grief and Therapy Skepticism

Veteran actress Neetu Kapoor has sparked a conversation after candidly revealing that she does not believe in therapy. Following the death of her husband, legendary actor Rishi Kapoor, in 2020, she found solace in close friendships and returning to work, which she says did far more for her healing than any session on a therapist's couch.

Neetu Kapoor Shares Her Views on Therapy

Speaking on Soha Ali Khan's podcast 'All About Her', Neetu Kapoor did not mince words when sharing her perspective on professional therapy. "I don't believe in therapists, honestly. I believe in friends. You should have four or five close friends with whom you can really talk things out," she said, making it clear that human connection, not clinical intervention, is what she turns to during difficult times.

What Happened When She Tried Therapy

Despite her reservations, Neetu Kapoor revealed that she briefly explored therapy after Rishi Kapoor's passing, at the urging of those around her. The experience, however, only reinforced her skepticism. "When Rishi passed away, people told me to go to a therapist. I was very low and I did speak to one, but I kept asking myself, 'What am I doing here?' Till I am not mentally strong myself, what can therapy do? They tell you to meditate, count numbers, do this and that... for me, it felt like nonsense. You have to give yourself time. You have to decide when you want to become strong and move on," she explained.
