Remembering Pankaj Dheer

Pankaj Dheer passed away on October 15 last year at the age of 68. He was widely celebrated for his iconic portrayal of Karn in filmmaker BR Chopra's legendary television epic Mahabharat. Reports indicated that his cancer had relapsed, and he was in critical condition at the time of his passing. He had also undergone major surgery as part of his treatment.

Beyond his role in Mahabharat, Pankaj Dheer showcased his versatility in various television shows. He played the lead in the 1993 series Dastak alongside Shagufta Ali and Sameer Kakkar. He also appeared in the iconic Zee Horror Show with Archana Puran Singh and essayed the role of a defense lawyer in the series Kanoon. His last television appearance was in Dhruv Tara – Samay Sadi Se Pare with Ishaan Dhawan and Riya Sharma.

Nikitin Dheer's Career

Nikitin Dheer, known for his towering build and commanding voice, made his acting debut in 2008 with the film Jodhaa Akbar. He has since appeared in numerous films and television shows, including Naagarjuna – Ek Yoddha, Shrimad Ramayan, Ready, Chennai Express, Shershaah, Sooryavanshi, and the series Indian Police Force. He is married to actress Kratika Sengar.

Nikitin was last seen in the Punjabi film Akaal: The Unconquered directed by Gippy Grewal. The movie also stars Gippy Grewal, Nimrat Khaira, Gurpreet Ghuggi, and Shinda Grewal. Set in the 1840s Punjab after the death of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, the film depicts the resistance of Sikh warrior Akaal Singh against antagonistic forces.
