Her final rites are scheduled to take place today (May 26) at Palaiyur Patti near Melur in Madurai district, Cheran’s native village. The funeral is expected to be attended by relatives, friends, and several members of the Tamil film industry who have been closely associated with Cheran over the years.

Cheran hails from Melur in the Madurai district. He has always been fascinated with the art of acting from his early days. He initially participated in stage dramas before moving to Chennai to make a mark in the film world. He worked as an assistant director under K. S. Ravikumar in the film Puriyaadha Pudhir. Some of the films where he earned success and gained valuable experience include Cheran Pandiyan, Nattamai, and Mahanadhi.
