A new temporary exhibition in New York City is drawing significant public attention by displaying millions of pages of documents related to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and his long-standing association with former US President Donald Trump. The Institute for Primary Facts, an American transparency advocacy group, has established a library called 'The Donald J. Trump and Jeffrey Epstein Memorial Reading Room' in the Tribeca neighborhood. This collection includes approximately 3.5 million pages of files released by the US Department of Justice under the Epstein Files Transparency Act (EFTA). The documents are organized into 3,437 volumes, each numbered and displayed on shelves for public viewing.
Purpose and Public Access
The Washington-based non-profit organization emphasizes the importance of transparency, stating on its website: 'The truth is hard to deny when it's printed and bound for you to see.' Individuals interested in examining the files can register online to visit the reading room. The exhibition also features a display dedicated to the friendship between President Trump and Epstein, who died in federal custody in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges involving minors. The two were friends for decades before a falling out in 2004 over a property deal, after which Trump reportedly denounced Epstein.
Public Reaction and Calls for Expansion
The release of the Epstein files has been a long-standing demand by US citizens, both offline and online, as it was believed to contain names of influential individuals involved in illicit activities. The creation of this dedicated library has been widely praised on social media. One user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote: 'This shouldn’t just stay in NYC. Take it on the road.' Another suggested: 'Just put it in the ballroom. If we ever get the truth the square footage will be needed.' Others proposed taking the concept to Broadway or creating a traveling museum similar to the Freedom Train from the US bicentennial. However, some comments expressed skepticism, with one user stating: 'Trump will eventually go to jail. There is overwhelming evidence, personal testimonies, photographs, videos. He is being protected by other, equally powerful and equally guilty men. He has destroyed America. He needs to be put away where he can do no more harm.'
