Bollywood superstars Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan are set to share the screen once again after 18 years, in the upcoming thriller 'Haiwaan', directed by acclaimed filmmaker Priyadarshan. The makers announced on Saturday that the film will hit theatres worldwide on September 11, 2026.
From Comedies to Thrillers: Priyadarshan's Latest Venture
Priyadarshan, known for his iconic comedies like 'Hera Pheri', 'Hulchul', 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa', and 'Hungama', is stepping into the thriller genre with 'Haiwaan'. The film is produced by KVN Productions and Thespian Films, and also stars Shriya Pilgaonkar and Saiyami Kher in key roles.
The official announcement was made via the makers' Instagram handle, stating: 'One obsession. One relentless pursuit. One date you'll want to remember. #Haiwaan - A Priyadarshan film starring Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar in cinemas 11th September 2026. Mark your calendars.'
A Long-Awaited Reunion
Akshay and Saif have previously shared screen space in multiple films, including 'Main Khiladi Tu Anari', 'Yeh Dillagi', 'Aarzoo', 'Tu Chor Main Sipahi', and 'Keemat'. Their last collaboration was in the 2008 action film 'Tashan', which also featured Kareena Kapoor Khan and Anil Kapoor. The duo's reunion has generated significant buzz among fans.

According to reports, 'Haiwaan' is a Hindi-language remake of the 2016 Malayalam thriller 'Oppam', which starred Mohanlal in the lead role.
