A city court in Hyderabad has issued summons to Telugu film star Allu Arjun and 22 other accused, directing them to appear in person on June 22 in connection with a fatal stampede during the premiere of 'Pushpa 2' at Sandhya Theatre.

Charge Sheet Filed Against 23 Accused

The Hyderabad police had earlier filed a charge sheet against 23 individuals in the court regarding the incident. Following the charge sheet, submitted on December 24, the court issued summons to all accused, including Allu Arjun, ordering their appearance on June 22.

Details of the Accused

According to the charge sheet, the theatre owner, partners, manager, lower-balcony in-charge, and gatekeeper have been named as accused numbers 1 to 10. Allu Arjun has been listed as accused number 11.

Background of the Stampede

Allu Arjun was arrested after a 35-year-old woman died and her eight-year-old son was injured in the stampede during the screening of 'Pushpa 2' on December 4, 2024. The stampede occurred when fans gathered to catch a glimpse of the actor at the premiere.

Legal Action and Assistance

Following the incident, the Chikkadpally police registered a case against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), based on a complaint from the deceased woman's family. Allu Arjun and the makers of 'Pushpa 2' extended financial assistance to the injured boy's family. The Telangana government also announced financial aid for the family.
