Nani on Telugu Cinema's Global Rise: Quality Content Drives Expansion
Nani: Quality Content Fuels Telugu Cinema's Global Rise

Telugu cinema's transition from a regional powerhouse to a global contender is being driven by its steady output of quality, content-led films, believes actor Nani. In an interview, he stated, 'In the last few years, I think every year from Telugu cinema we at least had five or six solid good films which I know a lot of other state media or audience have praised a lot about. That is what has been the key to increasing reach.'

Global Ambitions

The ambition is now pivoting from domestic dominance to a definitive global footprint. With his upcoming film The Paradise slated for an expansive eight-language release — including Spanish and English — Nani highlights that the industry is increasingly fueled by international synergy. 'We have international technicians working on our films, and audiences from other countries are catching up to what we are creating. They are enjoying it and celebrating it. I think we're in a very good place,' he added.

Industry Growth

This shift reflects a broader trend in Telugu cinema, which has seen a surge in cross-border appeal thanks to strong storytelling and technical collaborations. The industry's ability to produce multiple acclaimed films annually has helped it gain recognition beyond traditional markets.
