'Emmerdale' is one of Britain's longest-running and most beloved soap operas, and next week the Yorkshire village is set to erupt with drama. Cain Dingle finds himself at the centre of two major storylines as he faces serious surgery and then discovers a truth that sends him over the edge.
Elsewhere, Dr Todd cranks up her blackmail of Charity to a shocking new level, Bear struggles to adjust to life outside the farm, and the men's darts team gets an unexpected new recruit.
Here are all 11 'Emmerdale' spoilers for what is coming up next week.
1. Kyle is worried about his dad
The morning of Cain's operation arrives and both Cain and Moira put on a brave face. But Kyle is not convinced. As he watches his dad be wheeled off for surgery, Kyle is consumed with worry and panic.
2. Cain's operation goes well, but he struggles to cope
The prostate surgery fortunately goes well. However the reality of his catheter hits Cain hard, serving as a stark reminder of everything he could be facing going forward. Fearing permanent incontinence, he fakes pain to avoid being discharged. Moira sees straight through it and is frustrated, but it is Sarah who finally gets through to him, taking him to task over his self-pity. Cain eventually agrees to go home, though it is clear he is far from at peace with his situation.
3. Moira forced to confess
Already in a foul mood, Cain snaps when he notices tension during a visit from Aaron and Robert. Once they have gone, he pushes Moira for answers and she is left with no choice but to admit the truth about the ID documents.
4. Cain sets out for revenge as Robert is knocked unconscious
A furious Cain is dead set on getting even and enlists Sam to help. While Robert is working on the farm, Sam attacks him from behind. Robert wakes up tied to a chair with Cain standing over him, brandishing a hammer. Cain insists he is there to make Robert pay, but the question remains, is he in any fit state to follow through, and just how far is he willing to go?
5. Jacob dares to hope
Jacob fears the feud with Dr Todd has gone too far, particularly as she attends her father's funeral. He tells Sarah he feels guilty about how ugly things have become, though she reminds him that Todd made his life a misery. Wanting to draw a line under it all, Jacob visits Todd to offer his condolences. When she accepts his apology, he dares to hope that things might finally be moving in a better direction.
6. Todd's dig panics Charity
Jacob's optimism is short-lived. Todd drops a loaded comment suggesting she knows a secret that could make his life hell, and Charity immediately realises Todd has been hinting at her secret. A worried Charity urges Jacob to keep his distance from Todd for his own sake.
7. Vanessa and Todd grow closer
Mary encourages Vanessa to ask Todd out, and she does. The two arrange a date, but things are quickly complicated when Todd reveals she is set to inherit her father's home in Matlock. Vanessa worries the distance will make any relationship impossible and suggests they remain friends. That does not last long, however, as the pair end up kissing in the pub. Charity, watching on, is horrified.
8. Todd blackmails Charity again
The devious doctor then tells Charity she has concrete proof that she, Ross Barton, and Leyla share genetic parents, and she wants to be paid to keep quiet. Todd's demand? 10,000 Pounds. With the clock ticking, will Charity be able to find the money, or is her secret finally about to come out?
9. Bear's new job triggers him
Bear and Mandy have both taken up jobs at the depot. When Jai introduces a productivity chart competition, Bear wins it. But the victory is short-lived as Jai accidentally triggers a flashback to Bear's time at the farm, leaving him visibly shaken.
10. Bear's trauma still haunts him
Bear is soon disciplined, and the anxiety causes him to snap at both Mandy and Kerry. He flinches when Jai raises his voice. Mandy and Kerry step in to explain to Jai that Bear's past trauma is behind his behaviour. Jai softens his approach and does his best to reassure Bear, but the question of whether Bear can truly find his footing in the real world again remains unanswered.
11. The men's darts team gets a new member
Bob realises he is one player short for the men's darts team and starts to panic. Lewis steps up and offers to join, claiming he has plenty of darts experience. But will he actually be the team's saviour when it matters most?
